I WRITE in reply to the Australian gentleman who wondered about the airship which passed over Warrington.
I remember being in the Oakwood school playground when this large airship came over. It would have been in the 1920s.
My husband, who went to St. Barnabas, says they were taken out to see it. He says it was the R-101. But there was one called The Hindenburg airship, it caught fire in 1937.
We are both in our 80s but we remember.
