DOUBLE winners from last season, Mond Rangers Ladies commenced their new life in Division One with a home against Broughton Aerospace.

The highlight of a one-sided scoring spree was a first half hat-trick in 25 minutes for Kath Bell. Last season's top scorer scored four more goals along with one each from Louise Dixon, Helen Cann and Emma Deakin.

STIFFER opposition was expected from a visit to Warrington Grange but right from the kick-off Mond Rangers took the game to their hosts and created a string of chances.

It was Warrington, however, who forced three corners and a close breakaway effort before Kath Bell finally broke the deadlock and scored with a smart low foot shot on the half-hour mark. They doubled their lead minutes later with a flying close range header from Kath Bell.

Within a minute of the restart Helen Cann virtually sealed the three points after good work by Emma Deakin and Harriet Miller. Mond took their foot off the gas pedal slightly as the wind began to cause problems and it took a double strike from Kath Bell mid-way through the second-half to push the match further out of Warrington's reach. With Mond playing exceptional football it was time for two spectacular goals to wrap up the match. First Louise Dixon crashed in a cleared corner from an acute angle and Helen Cann precisely fired past the flailing keeper from 40 yards.

On Sunday, September 27, Mond Ladies entertain Bangor City in the first round of the AXA Womens FA Cup. Kick-off is at 2pm at Pavilions, Runcorn. Next Sunday Mond Ladies entertain Preston North End in a league game kicking off at 2pm at Pavilions.
