KNUTSFORD continued their steady progress in the Mid-Cheshire League with a narrow victory over Cheadle Heath.
However the goal that clinched the points was spectacular.
Ryan Gilligan, 19 this week, has a taste for scoring wonderful goals and thirty three minutes into Saturday's game he registered his first of the season.
Picking the ball up some 25 yards from goal he cut inside and unleashed a thunderbolt that flew into the top corner.
Cheadle's experienced goalkeeper Milligan didn't even dive as he was completely out thought by the forward.
The home side had few other opportunities to add to the score, but the visitor's through Mark Hall had their chances.
Twice after he had found his way behind Knutsford's defence Hall failed to hit the target and on another occasion Knutsford's Daine Johnson was equal to the task and made an agile save.
Knutsford now embark on a difficult fortnight away from home following five successive home games.
They face Linotype this Saturday at 3pm and Barnton in two weeks.
