YOUNG people in Warrington are spending less time on the dole queue since the launch of a government jobs creation scheme, according to latest figures.
New statistics show the number of under 25s out of work for more than six months has dropped by 10 per cent. Meanwhile the amount of over 25s unemployed for two years or more has been slashed by 40 per cent.
Warrington North MP Helen Jones says the credit should go to the New Deal initiative, which she claims has been successful in assisting the long-term jobless to return to work.
