Boots also vanished in Sunday's £300 raid on Travelling Light in Minshull Street.
"Whether they were the right size or not we don't know," said assistant manager Susan Pye. "We are waiting for them to be brought back."
Shortly afterwards, a thief smashed the shop window of Jumpers in King Street and stole sweaters and shirts worth £270.
Manager Pauline Butterworth said it was the first raid on the shop since she arrived more than four years ago.
"Somebody will have some extra Christmas presents this year," she said.
