A TEAM from the Prince's Trust Volunteer Programme, which is doing a "make-over" of a garden at the Children's Society Centre, Orford, has been adopted by Warrington-based United Utilities as part of a £40,000 sponsorship of eight teams in the region.
The Warrington team is providing wheelchair access, neatening borders and setting up a seating area in the garden, which is used by community groups. The work is part of a 12 week personal development programme to improve their skills and employability.
The young people come from a range of backgrounds. Some are in full time employment, others have learning difficulties, and some are young offenders.
Support is being provided by United Utilities press officer Suzanne Rigby of Penketh.
