PUPILS from High Street Primary School joined a choir of 8,000 children at the MEN arena, in Manchester, on Monday.

The huge charity concert, organised by the Young World Organisation was an impressive spectacular with schools from across the North West united in song.

Teacher Susan Brook said: "Each year proceeds go to a different charity and each school learns the same songs so they can all sing together."

This year's event was in support of the Great Ormond Street Hospital and was one of four concerts in major cities across the country.

Some 55 members of the High Street junior choir, all aged between seven and 11, attended the event, with over 100 parents there to support them.
