CONSERVATION volunteers braved the wet weather to do some much needed work in the grounds of Meadowbank Lodge last week.

Members of the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers worked on tree planting, improvements to pathways for wheelchair users and installing benches.

Project officer Peter Attwood said: "We did all we could with the weather as it has been, it is just too wet for us to complete the work, but we will continue at a later date."

Volunteers undertook the work with financial support from Vale Royal Borough Council and the Weaver Valley project and it follows long term links with Meadowbank Lodge.

BTCV is looking for more volunteers to help with worthy conservation projects, but also runs training and New Deal initiatives.
