A WINSFORD family are appealing for a new home for a cat found dumped on a dual carriageway.
The 12-month-old cat was found in a cardboard box on Wednesday night, November 8 by the side of the road in Over.
The couple who found the cat gave her to Dot Jones, a well-known cat lover on the Over estate.
A note attached to the box read: "Stray cat, may need vet." But Dot believes that this is not true.
She said: "She looks too healthy to be a stray and a young couple were seen near the box - I want to know if it is their cat."
"It is disgusting that anyone should do this. Abandoning a cat is awful, but on a dual carriageway is beyond belief."
The cat is now being looked after by Dot's daughter, Rachael, and she is hoping someone will come forward to offer a new home.
Rachael said: "She is a beautiful cat, but no-one seems to have room for her. It is a case of 'no room at the inn'."
If you can offer a home ring Rachael on 01606 559272.
