HIGH-FLIER Andrew Ward never gets into a flap, thanks to the stress-busting hobby he shares with David Beckham!

The manager of Warrington's Golden Square shopping centre took up the ancient sport of falconry after hearing that business people found it helped them to combat stress.

Now he has teamed up with Steve Birchall of Appleton, who runs the Northwich falconry centre Cheshire Waterlife, to bring his feathered friends to Golden Square this Christmas.

The magnificent birds will be on display to shoppers from December 2 right up until Christmas Eve.

Andrew took up falconry at Cheshire Waterlife last year, when it was inundated with members after David Beckham reportedly signed up in a bid to unwind off the pitch.

Andrew said: "Falconry is all about respect for these wonderful animals, as well as communication and teamwork.

"When you are concentrating on working with them, the stress seems to just ebb away and the benefits stay with you for quite some time."

Steve added: "We get business people from all sorts of backgrounds coming along for courses. Some come to combat stress and others believe the disciplines of the sport will encourage team-building and communication within the business."
