NANTWICH is about to be 'turned on' by glamorous star of the Lyceum panto, Emma Steadman!

The Price is Right girl will be switching on the town's Christmas lights on Saturday, November 25.

Although a little later than usual, the festive brightener is set to spread more cheer than last year when the display was dubbed "pathetic" by town councillors.

Traders are joining forces with borough and town council to ensure a better show that includes a 33ft tree sparkling with 1,200 white lights.

Emma, 25, will be taking a break from rehearsing her role of Princess Baldroubadour in 'Aladdin', which opens on Friday, December 8 and runs until Saturday, January 6.

Her fellow panto stars, Greg Donaldson (The Bill), Geoffrey Davies (Doctor in the House) and Rod, Jane and Freddy (Rainbow) will be switching on Crewe's lights on the following Thursday, November 30.

Emma has appeared with Bruce Forsyth in his The Price is Right game show for the past five years and can also be seen with him in 'Tonight at the London Palladium'.

Crewe's 'Aladdin' will not be her first panto appearance. That was last year when she was Prince Charming in 'Cinderella' at Kingston-upon-Hull.

The switch-on will be in the centre of town at 6pm.

Pre-booked ticket sales have reached record levels. To reserve seats contact the Lyceum box office on 537333.
