Plas Coch 2
Winnington Park 2
ALTHOUGH Winnington Park's tactic of trying not to concede early goals as they did a week earlier worked, they still couldn't find the cutting edge in front of goal to force victory.
And once again they fell two goals behind before coming back with a late rally to earn their point.
Plas Coch took the lead against the run of play from a short corner. Nick Moores could only half stop the initial effort and a home attacker pounced on the rebound.
It wasn't until the second half that Winnington' s ploy of using an extra forward paid off, but it was Plas Coch who scored next to take a 2-0 lead.
Chances of a fight back reduced further when playmaker Rob Booth was sin binned for retaliation, but Danny Moores lifted hopes with a goal from a short corner.
Booth made up for his earlier indiscretion just minutes from time when the Plas Coch keeper was panicked into deliberately smothering the ball and conceding a penalty stroke. Booth converted the flick with minimum fuss.
WINNINGTON Park 2nds lost 7-0 to Congleton, and the 3rds also suffered a heavy loss, 5-0 at St Annes.
It was a different story for the 4ths, who won 7-2 against Urmston. Goals came from R Whittle (3), C Maguire (2), D Fulwell (2).
Park's Beavers also beat Urmston opponents, 1-0.
