THE brand new X-ray suite has just been opened at Leighton following a quarter of a million pounds spendout.
The room is based in the Medical Imaging Department at the hospital and was opened by Chief Executive Simon Yates.
It contains a new machine called an OmniDiagnost which uses the very latest in digital technology.
This means the number of conditions which can be examined in the room has now increased leading to more flexibility within the department.
The whole X-ray experience is now more comfortable as patients don't have to move around as much as with previous machines.
Linda Atack from the Medical Imaging Department said: "This new equipment will make having an X-ray at Leighton simpler and more patient-friendly."
