POLICE are warning people about the dangers of GHB after two men were discovered in a parked car on Longford Street on Saturday night.

They were in a distressed state, and officers believe they had taken the substance, which is used as an anaesthetic, by body-builders to relax and as a recreational drug. When paramedics arrived at the scene at 7.30pm, one of the men was unconscious and the pair were taken to Warrington hospital. One of the men has since been discharged, but the second man has been transferred to Whiston hospital for observations. His condition was described as comfortable as the Midweek went to press.
