GREEN fingered gardeners have the chance to win prizes while helping to create a blooming lovely town.
Congleton is representing the North West in the Britain in Bloom finals, and is planning a spectacular show of colour to wow the judges.
To ensure the town looks its best it is running a hanging basket contest with Congleton Horticultural Society.
There will be categories for tub baskets and mossed baskets, between 12 inches and 18 inches in diameter, which must be visible from the street or footpath.
The competition is open to residents of the parish of Congleton Town, and is 50p to enter.
Judging takes place at the end of July, and the winners will receive Garden Centres of Cheshire vouchers. Entry forms are from Congleton Information Centre and Library.
