LOCALS in Carrington may soon be benefiting from a spruced-up local green.

For plans are afoot to give the Stamford road green a facelift if consent is passed by planning chiefs.

Works will include landscaping and footpaths along with new seating and a dedicated toddlers area complete with play equipment if the proposal is approved.

The plan is amongst the latest batch of applications lodged with Trafford Borough Council - details of which are now available for inspection during normal office hours at Trafford Direct 2000 at Sale Town Hall, Tatton Road, Sale.

Stretford: Outline planning application for residential development of site following demolition of existing buildings at Longford Depot, Longford Road (H/LPA/OUT/51597).

Old Trafford: Change of use of single-storey storage building at rear of premises to extend office use with associated external alterations at 454 Chester Road, Old Trafford (H51556).

Davyhulme: Hipped roof over existing two-storey side extension at 196 Davyhulme Road (H51558); first floor side extension above existing garage at 7 Lonsdale Avenue (H51564); single-storey extension to side and rear at 1 Barra Drive (H51596).

Carrington: Environmental improvement works comprising provision of landscaping footpaths, toddlers play area, seating, installation of play equipment, formation of car parking bays and alterations to road splays at Stamford Road Green, Stamford Road (H51557).

Warburton: Erection of detached dwellinghouse at Townfield Lane/ Church Green (H51598).
