MEMBERS of Frodsham Golf Club gathered together for their annual Captains Day recently, where Tom Graves stole the ,show in the over all stableford competition.

The event took place over the weekend of June 2 and 3 and Graves scores of 73 (41 on the Saturday and a Sunday 37) were enough to take the title.

Christine Daye (Saturday 36, Sunday 37, total 73) came a close second and Phil Munro, (Saturday 36, Sunday 36, total 72) took third.

Anne Freakes (Saturday 36, Sunday 36, total 72), John Salisbury (Saturday 36, Sunday 36, total 72) and Jo Carter (Saturday 39, Sunday 33, total 72) took fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

Daily winners on Saturday were Owen Morris (40pts) in first place, Lesley Thornhill (38pts) in second and Gordon Hale (38pts) in third.

And Sundays daily winners were Stuart Padget (40pts) in first, Carl Massey (35pts) in second and Mick Morris (35pts) in third.

The Captains plate was won by Steve Whitehead who scored 34pts, with runners-up spot and third place going to Dave Hignell (33pts) and Keith Turton (33pts) respectively.

Nearest the pin winners on Saturday were John Hayes (5th) and Phil Munro (17th), with Chris Edwards (9th) and Jeff Shaw (15th) stealing the show on Sunday.

Longest Drive awards went to Keith Murray (6th) and Rosemary Murphy (15th) during Saturdays play and Stuart Tudor (12th) and Rosemary Murphy again (15th) on Sunday.
