The Vikings U21s slumped to a shock 20 -34 defeat at the Auto Quest on Thursday evening against Oldham.
As league leaders they were comfortably beaten by their Oldham counterparts in front of a crowd of 300.
The U 21s went into the game five points ahead of their visitors but you would not have thought so at the end of the game.
The Roughyeds went in a half time 18-6 up and continued their form throughout the second half.
Ashley Whatmore, Andy Saywell, Paul George and Karl Fitzpatrick scored the tries for Widnes and Jamie Winrow landed two goals.
