AFTER week six of the Warrington and North Cheshire Bowls Association Monday League Grange A still lead Section A.

Their 13-1 victory over Brooklands A included 21-7 wins for Arnie Bishop and Alf Clemo.

King and Queen A are in second following a 10-4 win over Alford A. Andrew Wightman took the sweep 21-7 while Bernard Carroll replied with a 21-10 card.

GESM A moved up to fourth spot after defeating Farmers A 12-2. Peter Goodrum, 21-4 and Stuart Ashcroft, 21-10, were the top winners. Mike Warburton took the visitors' sweep 21-10.

Rob Littlewood's 21-8 card helped Monk Sports A to a 9-5 success against St. Oswalds A. Tony Salt replied with a 21-7 card.

Culcheth Sports A moved to the top of Section E after the 12-2 win over Vulcan. T. Crook, 21-3 and K. Appleton, 21-7, were the best winners.

F. Laird replied with a 21-11 card. Second-placed Alford B had a close 8-6 victory over Irish Club B. A. Wilkinson took the sweep 21-9.

Monk Sports B moved into third following an 8-7 win at Smithys. T. Wright, 21-5 and K. Wilcox, 21-9, were their best winners. M. Williams, 21-8 and J. Owen, 21-9, were Smithys' best.

M. Ruane and R. Leigh both won 21-10 for Kings Club B in the 8-7 victory at Pierpoints B. B. Buckley replied with a 21-10 card.

Section F leaders, St Albans, won 8-7 at Kings Club A. R. Dobson, 21-5 and R. Pierce, 21-8, were the top winners.

Tetley C's 12-2 win over Red Lion C included Tom Rourke's 21-6 and Arthur Lawton's 21-7. Dave Anderson took the visitors' sweep 21-10.

J Corcoran's 21-5 card helped Rylands C to an 8-7 victory at Grange C. Tommy Bishop took the home sweep 21-6.

St. Josephs took advantage of the top two in Section G not playing. Orford WM C were rained off against Pierpoints C, Brooklands B had a bye. St. Josephs 13-2 win at GESM C took them into top spot. Best winner was H. Gillicker, 21-10.

Eagle B moved into fourth spot with a 9-6 win at Plough. A. Rudge, 21-6 and T. Murray, 21-7, were their best winners.

Bulls Head B defeated Burtonwood B 12-2. Top win came from B. Young, 21-6. R. Aspinall was the top visitor, 21-11.

Woolston stayed top in Section H following their 10-4 win over Risley PO. B. Cook, 21-3 and S. Harrison, 21-7, were the top winners.

Irish Club A's 11-3 win over Culcheth Sports B included K. Smith's 21-3 and B. Ward's 21-4.
