FOUR teenagers were arrested and questioned by police on Friday morning in connection with a mugging and a burglary at St Mary's Catholic Club on Dial Street.
A gang approached a 17-year-old man near to Carpet World on Church Street at around 6.30am. One of the gang said he had a knife and demanded the man hand over his wallet, which contained £35 cash. They then kicked the man and punched him in the face.
The victim went to Warrington Police Station after the attack and gave a description of the gang. Police have linked them to an earlier break-in at the Catholic Club and the four members were arrested and interviewed at Warrington Police station.
One of the gang members, a teenage girl, was found to have a cut to her hand when she was arrested and she was treated at Warrington Hospital.
The four include a 13-year-old boy from Warrington, a 16-year-old boy from Latchford, a 17-year-old boy from Great Sankey, and a 15-year-old girl from Warrington. They cannot be named for legal reasons and have been released on bail while further inquiries are carried out.
