STAFF at Walton Lea Crematorium have announced that they will be changing the days on which floral tributes are removed from the lawn plot area.
In response to requests from the public, floral tributes are to be removed late on Wednesday afternoon and early on Thursday morning each week.
The change will come into effect from the first week in December and will replace the current time of removal, which is early on Tuesday mornings.
Sean Kelly, bereavement services officer at Walton Lea, said: "Generally the public prefer to visit places such as crematoria at the weekend. However, people have perhaps in the past felt that they are unable to visit at the weekend knowing that their flowers are to be removed in some cases less than 48 hours later.
"Hopefully the change will benefit the public and give people more freedom to choose when they would like to visit."
