Monk Sports continued their domination of the second division, claiming the scalp of last week's Guardian Cup headliners Winwick United 5-2.
Silver Birch, who looked to be promotion contenders for much of last year, claimed the day's highest score. Their 8-2 mauling of Lockers was their best result in months.
Grange Safeway also showed a much-needed improvement in their fortunes, taking the spoils from their visit to Leigh Athletic 5-2. Rainhill Town outclassed Brookfield 7-2.
The Premier Division highlight was a terrific encounter at Irlam where the home side beat Whiston Cross 3-2. Wilson and Newbold, two, scored for Irlam. Bagguley hit two for the visitors.
In the third division, top dogs Parklands plundered a further four goals. Tillett, two, Gilmour and Bell were on target against Village FC, who could only reply once.
