GET set for fortress Wilderspool in 2002!

Warrington Wolves are going to employ Melbourne Storm's 1999 Grand Final winning tactics next year.

Performance director Steve Anderson, who was assistant coach to Chris Anderson when Storm lifted the title for the first time, said: "I'll turn our ground into the most hated ground to play on in Super League.

"When I was at Melbourne, opponents hated going to the ground.

"We used to belt the stuffing out of them. Mind you, we did it when we were away from home too!

"Teams simply feared coming to play us because they knew they were going to get beaten."

Intimidating

And with the Wolves having the noisiest fans in the sport too it seems likely Wilderspool will be an intimidating place for the opposition to attempt to succeed in during Super League VII.

Warrington Wolves chiefs are delighted with their first week of 2002 season ticket sales.

The club has reported an increase in fans' purchases in the first week compared to the opening sales week of last year.

The early bird special offers, which run until November 10, include a single parent family ticket for the first time, an adult season ticket from £110 and a junior season ticket via Wolf Pack membership for £20.

The new signings for 2002, overseas players like Matt Rodwell, Sid Domic and Darren Burns, plus former Great Britain prop forward Dale Laughton have captured the imagination of primrose and blue supporters.
