HIGH achievers and high school leavers were among Great Sankey pupils who were awarded for their commitment at a special ceremony at the Parr Hall.
Great Sankey High School holds the event regularly to recognise the high standard of work achieved by pupils year on year.
Guests included chairman of governors, borough councillor Peter Walker and chief executive of Warrington Community Health Care Trust, Laura McMurtrie, while the school's famous swing band also took the floor.
The winners included Jack Mills for maths, Claire Jennings for physical sciences, Michelle Cosgrove for biological sciences, Jennifer Barton for English, Katerina Carvey for French, Mark Pottinger for business studies, Andrea Hayward for outstanding contribution to the sixth form, Andrew Bracegirdle for community service and the Tim Parry trophy went to Richard Chinn, Tom Lomas and Faye Lawless.
Pupils who won governors' prizes for academic achievement in year 11 went to Jennifer Barton, James Carr, Nicola Dunk, Mark Pottinger and Nicola Scott.
