GOVERNMENT buildings across the north west were the subject of a region-wide demonstration of support for devolution yesterday.
A declaration of support for devolution, signed by more than 100 prominent people, was posted on the doors of five government buildings to support the Government's plans for regional governance.
The Government is currently seeking comments on the plans for an elected assembly and the matter will be discussed at Monday's full council meeting.
Leader Clr Mike Hughes will present a motion supporting the holding of a referendum for people to give their views on the issue.
