CYBER cafes, improved access and recreational areas are just some of the projects included in a proposal to develop Castle Park, in Frodsham.

About 20 members of the public turned up at last week's meeting of Frodsham Town Council where they were addressed by Rod Willet, from Vale Royal Borough Council, who gave a presentation on proposals to enhance the area.

The site could become the home for The Rock Surgery, where staff are continuing their 10-year search for new premises and a One Stop Shop.

Included in the proposals are renovation of the current building, restoring the landscape, better access to the site, mobile security patrols, secure fencing, renovation of the current building.

Among some of the points raised were concerns about the build up of traffic on the A56, funding for the scheme and whether the patients at The Rock Surgery approve of the move from the current location in High Street.

Mr Willet said that a patient survey was currently being carried out.

Councillor Colin Pritchard said: "There is a lot of concern in the town about the access onto the A56.

"They have got an open mind about the scheme but you come out of the park into a blind bend and it is an accident waiting to happen."

Mr Willet stressed throughout that these proposals are not a done deal.

He said: "A lot of consultation with the public will be done and proposals will be sent out to everyone in Frodsham to comment on.

"This is not a secret scheme but we need to have a concept first to take to them.

"They are just proposals and everything is open to changes."
