WIDNES and Runcorn Sixth Form College beat former national champions, Carmel College, 42-6.
Two tries each by Scott Parker and Matty Saunders, plus run-overs for Neil Bennett, Rob Critchley, captain Ian Wilkinson and Jez Whitfield, who also converted five goals, sealed the rout.
Head coach, Chris Radcliffe said: "This was an excellent result for the team considering Carmel's rugby playing pedigree.
"We used 23 players in all, each displaying a high level of ability and commitment and illustrating our strength in depth.
"We hope we can build on this for our remaining games and push ourselves as high up the league as possible."
The team has played five games and recorded victories against Blackpool and Oldham Colleges.
They entertain second placed Greenhead College from Huddersfield today (Wednesday).
