KNUTSFORD Cinema's contemporary film season continues on Monday with Swimming Pool (15).

It is director Francois Ozon's first English language film and finds him working again with Charlotte Rampling.

She takes on the role of Sarah Morton, a writer of mystery stories, looking for inspiration for her next book.

Holidaying at her publisher's house in Provencale, she becomes fascinated by his reckless young daughter whose lifestyle provides such a striking contrast to her own prim, reserved background.

Meanwhile Love Actually (15) remains at Knutsford Studio Cinema this week.

Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman and Martine McCutcheon star in a film that has been billed as the ultimate romantic comedy.

Weave

Set in contemporary London in the weeks before Christmas, Love Actually tells one story which weaves together a spectacular number of love stories - sometimes romantic, sometimes sad, sometimes stupid - all funny in their own way.

Everywhere you look, love is causing chaos.

There is a new bachelor Prime Minister who falls in love 30 seconds after entering Downing Street, a loser sandwich delivery guy who doesn't have a hope with the girls in the UK, so heads for Wisconsin and a jilted writer who escapes to the south of France to nurse his broken heart.

These London lives and loves collide, mingle and finally climax on Christmas Eve - and again and again and again - with romantic poignant and funny consequences for all.

The film is showing at Knutsford at 5.30pm and 8.30pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 8pm Tuesday and Wednesday and 2pm and 8pm Thursday.

Holes (PG) is also showing this week at 2pm Saturday and Sunday.
