MASSIVE hits from Ross Haydock and Jack Williams kept this first half close.

Burtonwood broke the stalemate scoring out wide. The blues came back with powerful drives from Curtis Rourke and Daniel Ineson then Curzon raced down the wing to level.

Burtonwood attacked but Moorfield held firm with great supporting tackles from Josh Mellor and David Ulph.

A spilt ball caught Moorfield on the back foot and Burtonwood scored again.

The home team pulled together and Johan should have scored in the corner but he took on six more tacklers before grounding. The goal was missed and half time saw the teams all square.

As the game dragged on Moorfield tired and three converted tries in rapid succession finished the game off.

Man of the match was Johan Curzon, coach's award Liam Loftus and the top tackler was Jack Williams.

TWO matches in as many days saw the blues first win of the season.

Stephen Aldred, Curtis Rourke and Joel Smith made great yards. This was complimented with some nice handling skills from Josh Mellor.

Adam Condron rounded off with a try from Wesley Gleave but Haresfinch took the lead with a converted try.

Jake Smith's distribution was excellent, Daniel Ineson drove forward smashing the defensive line followed by Ross Haydock who ran half the length of the pitch to score near the posts.

Ross scored a carbon copy of his first try and Moorfield went into half time with a good lead. Wesley Gleave gave out three dummies and scored in the corner. Stephen Aldred added a conversion. Haresfinch responded with a well-deserved try.

Josh Mellor carried the ball, Adam Condron went off on a run moving it out to Tom who managed to slip it out of a three-man tackle to give Daniel Ineson a chance to smash his way over. Haresfinch responded with another six pointer.

Stephen Aldred and Curtis Rourke forced the ball down field, Adam Condron's run was stopped short. A fast play saw Jake Smith score and convert.

Haresfinch rounded off their last set with a try. Awards were man of the match Ross Haydock, top tackler Jack Williams, coach's award Wesley Gleave and Curtis Rourke.
