TEARS of joy often trickle down the bride's cheek as she sees her bouquet for the first time.

That's how florists hope our excited bride will feel as she prepares for her dream wedding.

"Our aim is always to exceed her expectations," said florist Barbara Monks.

"We build up a very special rapport with the bride. We love it when our driver comes back and says she cried a little tear, she was so excited to see her beautiful bouquet."

Award-winning florist sisters Barbara and Amanda Canning of Flower & Plant Works, Church Street, Runcorn are providing a full flower package worth £450 for the couple who win the World's £6,000 dream wedding.

"We're really looking forward to seeing the winner," said Barbara. "Weddings are much more stylish now, very unique and personal to the couple.

"Everything is completely co-ordinated. We try and capture the mood, the overall feel of the venue and reflect something of the bride's personality.

Flowers are the finishing touches to a perfect day."

Barbara became the first female florist in the UK working in wholesale flowers at London's famous Covent Garden.

"It was amazing," she recalled. "I was involved in the import of flowers from all over the world."

Her sister, Amanda, scored the highest marks in the country, as the UK's youngest florist in her intermediate and diploma exams.

They have run the family business for 14 years, after their mum, Joan Elizabeth, founded it in 1981.

Becoming the UK's overall retail florist of the year in 1996 is an achievement, their nine-strong team of florists is still very proud of.

The wedding is set for October 16, 2004 - all we need now is the bride and groom!

A luxury reception at Lawson House Hotel, Rolls Royce, wedding dress, bridesmaid's outfit, groom and best man's hire suits, flowers, photographs, cake and invitation await the winners of this fantastic £6,000 dream wedding competition, organised by the World and Lawson House Hotel.
