A WOMAN was killed in a horrific motorway accident last week.
A 29-year-old driver died on the M56 after a wheel fell off a lorry travelling in the opposite direction and smashed into her car.
The crash happened at 10.10am, last Wednesday, November 26 between junction 12 Clifton and junction 11 at Preston Brook.
A Cheshire police spokesman, said: "The lorry driver, a 33-year-old man from Manchester has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving."
The woman, who has not yet been named, came from Southport.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call Sgt Kevin Williams from the traffic unit on 01244-350000.
