back

A ROCK 'N' ROLL legend is back in Northwich by popular demand.

Marty Wilde, who achieved fame with a string of hits in the late '50s and early '60s, returns to the town's Memorial Hall with his band The Wildcats on Friday, December 5.

The performance, entitled Born to Rock 'n' Roll, celebrates chart sensations such as A Teenager in Love, which reached number two in the UK in 1959, Endless Sleep, which stayed in the charts for 14 weeks, Donna and Sea of Love, which, featuring a harp where a guitar would normally be, broke the generic mould of late '50s music.

Smashes

However these timeless smashes constituted just part of Marty's recording career, which lasted 25 years and which is lovingly resurrected in his show.

Having made film appearances in such productions as Jet Storm and Stardust, and moonlighted as a compere on the TV show Boy Meets Girl, Marty has had a varied and fascinating career which makes his performance well worth visiting.

Indeed, so successful was his first show that Marty, who has been described as "a prime example of the best of pre-Beatles British Rock and Pop", is returning to Northwich by popular demand.

Tickets will cost £17.50 and to book your seats or to gain further information, please ring 01606 834914.
