WITTON Albion manager John Davison is unhappy with the effort shown by his team against Workington on Saturday and is threatening serious action.

Albion's form has been nothing short of appalling, winning just once in seven league games and scoring just three times in the past six league matches.

And Davison, it seems, has had enough of the poor results and is determined to turn things around before the rot sets in too deeply.

He said: "Saturday was disappointing.

"The players let themselves down and the people who went to watch.

"In a nutshell we were not good enough and must improve"

He added: "Picking up points in the league is imperative now and after recent performances it could well be that places in the team are up for grabs.

"I would like to think this performance was a one off but when you look at the last few games we haven't picked up the points we should."

And Davison hasn't ruled out the possibility of bringing more new faces to the club.

He added: "Signing new players is something that we've always got to be on the lookout for.

"With Carl (Frost) breaking his collar bone we do need to look at bringing in attacking players.

"It could also be that we have to look at other players we've got when we're making changes.

"Danny Salt has been injured and could be doubtful for Saturday but hopefully he will soon play a part in our games."

Club secretary Phil Chadwick added: "So many players had off days at Workington and I think it has really opened John's eyes to players' attitudes.
