I WAS INTERESTED to read in the Guardian the comments by Julie Newton, the manager of Warrington Hospital's Accident & Emergency department.
Apparently an ESC (Emergency Services Collaborative) has been launched, led by NPAT (National Patients' Access team), to provide an IDEA (Ideal Design for Emergency Access), incorporating a SATS (See and Treat System).
The trouble is that there are so many managers dreaming up these grandiose schemes, it seems there is no one left to treat the patients! The waiting times at A & E - sometimes many hours - remain wholly unacceptable.
As Ms Newton seems able to speak only in acronyms, can I give her a TOP TIP: Turn One's Priority to Treating Injured Patients.
