POLICE are investigating a robbery in Great Sankey when a woman was assaulted after stopping her car to use her mobile phone.
The attack took place at 10pm on Sunday, when the victim, from Stretton, pulled over to the side of Hood Lane to make the telephone call.
Two men opened her car door and demanded that she hand over her mobile phone. She was punched twice in the face and the attackers reached across to steal her handbag.
They escaped with her phone, make up and money.
