Mr John Joseph O'Kelly, husband of Mrs Grace O'Kelly, died on November 3 of pulmonary fibrosis. He was 64.
Mr O'Kelly of Lymmington Avenue, Lymm, was born in Dublin, Ireland, and had lived in Lymm for the past 33 years.
He was last employed as a health and safety officer for the clerk of works.
Mr O'Kelly was a member of the EFSA British fishing team, and won many medals and trophies for deep sea fishing. He also loved the company of his family and enjoyed Ireland and its culture.
Mr O'Kelly leaves his wife, a daughter, two grandchildren, four sisters and three brothers.
A service was held on November 17 at St Winefride's RC Church. Father Jim McGrath officiated. Interment took place on November 19 at Cardonagh, Co Donegal, Ireland.
Arrangements were made by John Burrows & Sons.
