LIVE rock nights are being relaunched at a Biddulph venue next week with the appearance of Cactus Moon.

The Roebuck pub in Congleton Road was taken over in October by Keith Brook and his son Gary.

The pub is popular with young people, but Keith, the licensee, and manager Gary are looking to attract the 30 to 40 age group as well.

They are planning regular Wednesday rock nights, starting with a Congleton band who perform classic numbers from top heavy rock acts.

Cactus Moon came into being two years ago, and perform across the North West.

Their sets consist of covers from bands ranging from Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Boston to Metallica, Whitesnake and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

The band adapts its show depending on which venue it is performing at, and plays at least once a month.

Lead guitarist Chris Darby, from Northwich, is the only non-Congleton member of the line-up, and is well known on the music circuit for his superb guitar solos.

Brian Grady is lead vocalist and second guitarist, the bass player is Warwick Stephenson and the drummer is Dave Hudson.

"We met two years ago through jam nights, and we're encouraging people not to miss this exciting free night at the Roebuck next Wednesday," said Brian.

"It's a chance for rock fans to support their local venue and help keep music alive.

The band's name was inspired by a Navajo American Indian legend, and Cactus Moon perform at The Roebuck at 8.30pm.
