YOUNG dancers swept the board at a regional competition after impressing judges with their twinkle-toed moves.
Kathryn Cooper and Gemma Crowe won a host of awards at the North West Allied Dancing Association contest.
Kathryn, aged 15, from All Saints Drive in Thelwall, received the titles of tap champion and ballet champion and she also won the senior tap scholarship.
Gemma, aged 12, from Amberleigh Close in Appleton Thorn, won the junior ballet scholarship. Both girls attend the Felicia Burns' dance school, which holds classes in Great Sankey and they performed at its annual dance show at the Parr Hall last week.
Kathryn's mum Sue said: "She has always wanted to dance and has won more than 50 trophies in one year."
Winning the scholarship awards means that the girls will travel to Manchester this weekend to perform at UMIST in the next stage of the competition.
