FAMILIES choosing from the thousands of forest fresh Christmas trees will be able to take a part in the host of seasonal activities at Delamere Forest.
The activities run until Sunday, December 21.
Each year the Forestry Commission sells around 100,000 Christmas trees at all its forest parks in Britain, and for every tree harvested at least
another two are planted.
Vernon Stockton, Forestry Commission beat forester at Delamere, said: "The atmosphere's going to be really great this year.
"We have something for all the family and everyone will be able to get into the mood while they choose their tree and have a great day out at the same time."
Christmas highlights at Delamere include:
l Horse drawn carriage rides through the forest: every weekend until December 21, from 10.30am until 3pm. Admission is £2 per person.
l Santa's workshop in the woods: Santa will be in his enchanted frosted forest glade every weekend until December 21.
l Visitors will find a nativity scene and a special advent calendar in the specially built cabin in the heart of the woods.
l Christmas tree sales: All sizes and a range of varieties are available daily until Sunday, December 21 from 9am to 5pm
Free parking is available.
