Mr Brian Lucas, husband of Mrs Violet May Lucas, died of acute myocardial infarction on February 6. He was 66.
Mr Lucas, of Ledyard Close, Old Hall, was born in St Helens and had lived in Warrington for 34 years.
He was employed as an HGV tanker driver with British Fuels until his early retirement through ill-health.
He saw national service with the Life Guards in the Household Cavalry at Windsor.
Mr Lucas was an avid St Helens rugby league supporter, enjoyed fishing and was a member of Lymm Anglers.
He liked gardening, holidays abroad, and loved the company of his only granddaughter.
Mr Lucas leaves his wife, a daughter, a granddaughter and two sisters.
A service was held on February 13 at Walton Lea, followed by cremation. The Rev Graham Houghton officiated.
Arrangements were made by Co-operative Funeral Services.
