THE funeral has taken place of Marion Oakes, of Barnton, who died on March 25, at Victoria Infirmary, Northwich, aged 83.
Marion was born in Portsmouth and lived in Barnton for 66 years.
She was the wife of the late John William Oakes.
She was employed in the distribution department of ICI Limited as an office worker, where she worked for 25 years.
She also worked at The Meadows Children's Home in Barnton.
Marion was a member of Barnton British Legion and was a past secretary of the women's section.
She enjoyed gardening, her family and holidays.
Her son, daughter-in-law, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren survive her.
The service was held at Christ Church, Barnton, prior to cremation at Walton Lea Crematorium, officiated by the Rev G Buchan.
Arrangements were by F Hayes & Son, Barnton.
