THE funeral has taken place of Sarah Ellen Elsby, of Barnton, who died on March 30 at Warrington General Hospital, aged 86. She was born in Barnton and had lived there all her life.
Known as Nellie to her family and friends, she spent many happy years enjoying modern sequence dancing with her late husband Jim and their many friends. They danced at many clubs and locations, both in Cheshire and throughout the UK.
Nellie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and leaves daughter Brenda and grandchildren Christian and Alistair.
The service was held at Christ Church, Barnton, prior to cremation at Walton Lea. The Rev G Buchan officiated.
