A ROADSHOW raising awareness about bowel cancer will call in at Asda Cockhedge on Thursday to spread the word about the disease.

For the past three years nurses and specialist nurses have joined forces to help raise awareness of bowel cancer and this year decided to hold several roadshows at supermarkets throughout April.

More than 30,000 people every year in the UK are diagnosed with bowel cancer, of which 25 per cent delay in going to the doctor, causing a delay in diagnosis.

Louise Foley, colorectal nurse specialist at Warrington Hospital, said: "Our aim is to raise awareness among the public and this year we have set up road shows making ourselves available for questioning on all aspects of bowel cancer and related diseases.

"We do this by highlighting the signs to look out for, as early detection is vitally important."
