WIDNES Vikings failed to make it three wins in a row as they went down 34-18 to London Broncos, writes Mark Farmer.

Moran had a hand in five of the home sides tries and scored the other one himself in a virtuoso performance.

Widnes looked at least a match for the Broncos for long periods but paid the price for a slow start and a disappointing last five minutes.

London used their early glut of possession to race into a 12-0 lead with Moran laying on tries for Nigel Roy and Joe Mbu.

The Vikings hit back on 18 minutes when a Robert Relf assist saw hooker Shane Millard halve the deficit against his former club.

Widnes had chances to cut the lead further but the Broncos scored again on 27 minutes when substitute Steve Trindall linked up with Moran to put centre Tom Haughey in at the corner.

When Moran went in for a converted try to make it 22-6, it looked all over for the Vikings.

However, with half-time imminent, Adam Hughes forced his way over to cut the deficit to 22-10.

Widnes were on top early in the second half and eventually got their reward when winger Nicky Royle scored his third try in three appearances for the club.

There were still 12 minutes on the clock when Hughes crossed in the right corner for his second try to make it 22-18.

It looked like game on at that point but Moran had other ideas.

Twice more he popped up to provide the key plays which saw Steele, Retchless and Lee Greenwood secure the points for the Broncos with late tries.
