YOUNG and old were brought together in a celebration of Halton's past at the launch of the 'Young Roots' Intergenerational History Project at Grangeway community centre, Runcorn.
Children and teenagers community group, HITS, and older persons charity Age Concern, got together in a taster session for a year-long project on family life through the ages.
'Bridging Generations: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow' will encourage young and old to discover the things they have in common as well as learn about differences between the decades.
Co-ordinator, Louise Nulty, said: "We got a really good response from people who took part in taster activities such as drawing family trees and making 3-D timelines. Everyone is looking forward to a fun and interesting year ahead."
