CAST iron bollards are to be put outside the Callands centre to stop cars mounting the pavement.
The parish council feared that cars were making people's lives a misery by cracking the walking surface after rotting timber bollards were removed in August.
The council wanted to help fund sturdy cast iron replacements but was unsure if it was legally allowed to pay the £700 difference between timber and cast iron bollards.
Chairman Clr Tina Cross said: "We've been advised that cast iron are the best bollards to get because they won't rot. We want to get the job done soon and we want it done well."
Now the legal issue has been resolved, Burtonwood and Westbrook Parish Council has committed itself to fund the additional cost.
