PICNIC tables, sports equipment and storage sheds are just some of the things needed to give Great Sankey Primary School's playgrounds a boost.
The school's parents and friends association (PFA) has already raised £6,000 but wants to match that figure to achieve the goal of refurbishing all three of its playgrounds.
A school spokesman said: "It's widely recognised that children can benefit greatly from their environment.
"It's with this is mind that we are working to create facilities that are safe, exciting and educational to help our children develop."
The school is hoping to acquire benches, planters, outdoor games such as tyre stacks, as well as trees and shrubs.
And it is looking for businesses to come forward to sponsor the project.
