A STUDENT is planning to spend three months looking after orphans in Romania - but needs £2,000 to fund the trip.
Claire McDermott, aged 21, of Brook Drive in Great Sankey, hopes to spend her summer working at two orphanages with around 300 children living in each.
She said: "They are still really desperate for help but there is not as much publicity as there used to be.
"I am quite nervous but really looking forward to it."
Claire, who is in her second year at Leeds Metropolitan University studying sport and exercise science, will head out to Romania in June as part of the Teaching and Projects Abroad scheme.
