Mrs Lily Crompton, wife of the late Mr Vincent Walmsley Crompton, died on January 29 at Meadow View nursing home, aged 93.
Mrs Crompton, of Penketh, formerly of Cronton, lived in Cronton most of her life.
She was employed for many years at Cronton post office, where she was born.
Mrs Crompton enjoyed music and played the organ for the evening church services at the Cronton Mission.
She leaves a son, a daughter, four grandchildren, a great-grandson and a sister.
A service was held on February 6 at St Luke's Church, Farnworth, followed by interment within the church grounds. The Rev Pauline Makin and the Rev Michael Buckley officiated.
Arrangements were made by Moar and Butler.
