FORMER Saints packman Stuart Jones will have a few points to prove come Sunday.
The versatile forward, who is currently enjoying a 12 month loan at the McAlpine, was released by Saints coach Ian Millward in order to accommodate new back rowers Lee Gilmour and Maurie Fa'asavalu.
Jones joined former Saints assistant Jon Sharp, who is now head coach at Huddersfield, during the off-season.
And he has turned in some impressive displays.
Millward explained: "I am really pleased for Stuart. He is playing really well. I recommended him to Jon as I thought it would be good for his development to play week in week out. For too many years at Wigan he did not play regularly enough and that stifled him.
"He is an honest kid with a lot of ability. I know some people will ask why did we not put a clause in to stop him playing against us.
"But Huddersfield have taken over his full wage and expenses and one of the things they wanted in return was that he was available to play against St Helens."
Millward said he will monitor the progress of Jones and Tony Stewart at Salford to see if they will feature in Saints' plans for next term.
